In addition, all of the following venues in Gibraltar allow for civil wedding ceremonies to take place and they can also be performed in the evenings and at weekends.   

Marriage Registry

 

John Lennon and Yoko Ono were famously married in the original Marriage Registry in Gibraltar. Today, the Registry, located in the heart of Gibraltar, is the venue for many couples who want to make theirs a simple but elegant affair. There is also a small garden on the premises, perfect for the wedding pics!  

The Dell

 

  

This delightful “secret garden” is possibly one of the most romantic spots in Gibraltar. It was designed by a Genoese gardener who incorporated beautiful and surprising elements – such as the “Bridge of Sighs” or “Ponte dei Sospiri”, named so because its beauty causes one to sigh! Surrounded by a wonderful  range of exotic flora and fauna, this location remains one of our all time favourite wedding venues.  

 

 

Top of The Rock

 

A truly unforgettable venue for your wedding ceremony! Perched on the top of the Rock is the Mons Calpe Suite… a stunning location which has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. With views of the Straits and across to Africa, it will take your – and your guests – breath away! 

 

 

The Rock Hotel

 

Perched majestically on the Rock, just 5 mins from the town centre is this famous colonial style hotel – Noel Coward stayed here, so did many other old favourites. Thats why we like this hotel as a wedding venue – it has an old-world charm about it. You can choose to have your ceremony in the Wisteria Garden or at the poolside area – which is surrounded by greenery all over, and this is ideal if your party is more than 70 people. 

  

O’Callaghan Elliot Hotel

 

This hotel is our choice as a a venue if you are looking to have your ceremony in a convenient location. Located in the centre of town, you and your guests can choose to stay here and have your ceremony and reception at one of the many rooms they have available.  

The Caleta Hotel

 

Located in a quaint seaside village on the other side of the Rock is this 4 star hotel which offers you lovely sea views and a romantic setting as you exchange your vows on the Terrace.  With its recently refurbished bedrooms, this hotel is a favourite for many who love the idea of being away from the crowds, yet it is still only a 7 minute drive into town!  

 

 

 

Religious Venues

The Cathedral of St Mary the Crowned

 

  

Gibraltar’s grandest Catholic Church, located in the centre of town in Main Street, is a beautiful church. Popular in particular with the local community, be sure you book this one as soon as you have a date!  

   

  

  

  

  

  

 

  

Kings Chapel 

 

The Chapel, is used by the residing Governor of Gibraltar. Located next to the Governor’s residence, this is a lovely small Chapel, and enables you to have an intimate wedding ceremony for you and your family and friends.  

  

  

 

 

 

Jewish Synagogue

 

The Synagogue is the heart of the thriving Jewish community in Gibraltar. Jewish wedding ceremonies would be officiated by the Rabbi. It is  a busy place of worship  and it is a good idea to get your date in their books early,  

 

  

  

  

Hindu Temple

  

This is another centre of activity for the substantial Hindu community of Gibraltar. The Hindu Temple is an impressive marble building with a large area for ceremonies and prayer meetings.  We encourage you to book the temple with some notice too, since it is the centre of many religious celebrations throughout the year.
