DAVID
After years spent working in the hectic but exciting professional environment of London, David Toms settled in Marbella, drawn by the scenery, the quality of life and above all, the gorgeous light. He brings broad experience and expertise to his studio, décor and lifestyle photography, but professes a particular enjoyment of wedding photography.
A great believer in natural, unforced images in which people appear relaxed and at ease, he has a knack for taking away any sense of apprehension or self-consciousness. For this reason he doesn’t require lengthy preparation or elaborate staging, but sees the possibilities with the trained eye of an experienced professional.
“I work quickly when I need people’s attention. You won’t be waiting for hours while I take hundreds of photos of the bride and groom on their way to their guests at the reception. Instead, I’ll photograph them as they make their way, preferring to shoot series of images when they look relaxed and happy.”
Equally well at ease with people of all nationalities, he has been a witness to a great many colourful traditions, from irish and English weddings to north european, Spanish, Gibraltarian and Indian ones.
Instead of working with rigid, highly commercial packages David is flexible in his approach, tailoring his work to the needs of his clients and ensuring they get what they want.
