It’s a little known fact that James Bond was married 3 times in Gibraltar. Yes.Bond, James Bond. And in honour of this fantastic piece of trivia, the girls at Hour Weddings - have been playing with the idea of creating a Bondesque wedding package for 2010!
Back in the sixties Sean Connery, the world’s very first James Bond was married at the Registry, and then did it again some time later. Roger Moore, followed closely and he, too, decided to make Gibraltar the place for his wedding vows! So there you have it! I wonder if Daniel Craig will go for it here too? Would be something… maybe we should give him a call and make him an offer??
In fact, the 007 connections with Gibraltar do not end there. Timothy Dalton (the next Bond) performed his dramatic opening sequence in “The Living Daylights” on the Rock – racing down from the top of the Rock in a jeep in a thrilling car chase which ended with a parachute jump where he landed fortuitously on the deck of a luxury yacht in the Mediterranean with a beautiful woman in a bikini. This is movie making at its best!
