We went to the National Wedding Fair!
Yes girls and boys! February is a busy month in the UK for people in the wedding business, so we decided to take a look at what’s new and what’s hot in the world of weddings. We also spent a day at the Confex (Conference and Events Fair) at Earls Court, and found some excellent new performers and companies that provide really unique services.
The National Wedding Show takes place twice a year in London, and twice in Birmingham. Our favourite stands were the companies that provide wedding favours, and the cake stands! What gorgeous cakes! It made me want to get married all over again! These days cake fillings are so delicious, that nobody should walk away from a wedding without eating a slice! Can anyone in Gibraltar match these marvellous examples of creativity? I was desperate to take pictures but cameras weren’t allowed! Ah well, it remains in my memory, and we will give you the contact details of these companies if you’re interested. Some companies do send their cakes abroad, if desired. And Gibraltar is not so far way…
The UK may be in recession, but you wouldn’t have guessed it at the Wedding Show. There were so many girls trying on wedding dresses from the many wedding dress stands, and buying all sorts of wedding decorations. We picked up a few bits and pieces, including lovely crystals for the wedding table. We also found a great company that offers magnetic decorations for the wedding car! We plan to get some of those in for you too! So watch this space!
Monica and Amina spent a lot of time checking out new ideas on wedding decor, and are now full of fresh ideas for the 2009 wedding crowd… you won’t be disappointed!
