A Mediterranean Blessing at Don Carlos

Marcel and Marianne completed their legal wedding paperwork in Gibraltar before travelling to Don Carlos Resort & Spa in Marbella for a beautiful blessing surrounded by 60 of their closest family and friends. Set in the hotel’s lush gardens, with palm trees swaying overhead and the Mediterranean Sea glittering in the distance, the ceremony was centred around a striking circular arch filled with elegant white flowers and cascading greenery.

Guests were welcomed with scented water on arrival to cool down in the Spanish sun, and wedding fans were thoughtfully provided for the ceremony. The groom and his groomsmen made an entrance through the palm-lined grounds — drinks in hand and smiles wide — setting the tone for a celebration that balanced sophistication with genuine warmth.

Sunset, Music, and Fireworks

As the sun began to set over the coast, guests moved to an al fresco cocktail reception featuring a Moët & Chandon bar, a live violinist, and soft fairy lights strung between the trees. The long banquet tables were dressed with woven placemats, candlelight, and delicate floral arrangements in whites and greens, creating an atmosphere that felt both elegant and effortlessly Mediterranean. Beautifully plated canapés and desserts added to the sense of occasion.

The evening celebration continued with a seated dinner accompanied by a Cuban band, whose rhythms kept guests on the dance floor late into the night. A DJ took over for the final hours, and the couple capped off the evening standing arm in arm, watching a spectacular private fireworks display light up the night sky over the sea. From the Gibraltar legalities to the styling, entertainment, catering, and flow of the day, we organised every detail to create a seamless and unforgettable celebration.
